Daniel Steibelt: Rondo à la turque (from Sonata in C, Op.37 No.1)

The Wiki article credits him with 45 rondos—but Henderson claims 117! To appreciate the Turkish element of this (and Mozart&piece, you must imagine the repeated chords in the left hand being augmented by pedal-operated percussive effects that were found on some fortepianos of the period. With or without them, it is an enjoyable piece to play (and hopefully to listen to!). I have used a French title, as I assume that Steibelt would have been unlikely to name it in English, even though the American compilation uses just the English title. From the American score, I assumed this was a standalone piece, but it is actually a piano-only version of the last movement of a piano sonata, which has ad-lib violin and tambourine parts for this movement. It would be great to hear it played with those added on!
