In part 4 of our series of videos filmed inside a boiler we explain the best way to maintain your boiler’s water level. Water needs to be regularly introduced into the boiler to replace the water that is being converted into steam. We show you how ‘on – off’ level control can impact the operation and efficiency of your boiler. This is because ‘fresh’ water will lower the temperature of the boiler water, temporarily reducing the steam output rate. However, by using a continuous feed of higher temperature water, you’ll maintain your boiler water’s level and temperature, giving you a more cost-effective and efficient boiler system. To produce this series of videos, we used a special viewing point mounted on the back of a typical industrial boiler to give you a visual catalogue of events not normally visible to boiler operators.
