Here’s some tests of my Panasonic model: SB-PM17 bookshelf speaker. It’s called a “Bi-Wiring Speaker System.” It means that two cables are connected to the amp rather than one. We all know most speakers are mono-wired. The speaker does sound pretty good. They have a 4 inch speaker which consists of a paper cone, paper dust cap, and a foam surround. They also have a 2 inch tweeter which consists of a paper cone, plastic dust cap, and a paper surround. These are bass reflex speakers. The woofer has good excursion. I don’t think these are magnetically shielded at all because the tweeter doesn’t have any magnetic shielding. I believe it’s like the other Panasonic speakers I tested. I believe the cutoff frequency is 70HZ which isn’t bad for a 4 inch woofer. It has a warm sound profile. The highs are crisp, subtle, and easy on the ears. The midrange is quite good because the woofer is only a 4 inch which larger speakers can’t reproduce. You’ll definitely need a midrange for larger speakers, I hope I find a second speaker. Overall, this speaker was a good find. This came from eBay lot listing, so I got a lot of speakers from that listing.
