Amid the rising global interest towards the Northern routes and passages, Russia is pointing out the obvious transit perks of the Northern Sea Route – the shortest maritime route connecting the European part of Russia with the Far East. Will it be possible to organize a regular shipping line via the Northern Sea Route in a short-to-medium term perspective and will it be viable compared to the existing transit routes?
